Ubuntu is ISCW’s youth employment and entrepreneurship program. Ubunti is a word in Zulu meaning “humanity” or “I am because we are.” ISCW wants to give forgotten youth a second chance to reclaim success by removing several barriers. Without urgent action, high unemployment rates could result in poor mental health, social protest and forced mobility among youth. Our program will achieve the following objectives:

  • To match employers with high-potential and appropriately skilled young people that are most likely to succeed

  • To equip employers with the tools, capacity and interventions needed to acquire and retain talent

  • To provide youth with the tools and skills needed to Vlook and apply for work

  • To match youth with opportunities aligned with their potential, skills, and interest

  • To provide psychosocial support during the job hunt process

  • To support the growth of high-quality micro-enterprise and self-employment opportunities for young people to earn an income

  • To form partnerships that bridge the gap between skills and jobs
