ISCW takes a unique and humble approach to training; be it for data collectors, youth, staff and supervisors, healthcare workers, or individuals. Traditional trainings often involve instructors talking at people rather than with them. We use effectively balance theory and practice, as well as utilize facilitation and dialogue in our trainings to facilitate self-development.

This approach helps us to personalize and tailor trainings to meet trainees where they are, and help them take ownership in the learning process. This also means that our trainings are highly interactive, incorporating activities such as games, role-play, branching scenarios, fishbone diagrams, process mapping, and flow charts to effectively engage participants. Some examples of training we conduct include:

  • Quality improvement

  • Mixed methods research

  • Community-based participatory research

  • Discerning your career

  • Organizational culture
